We Level the Playing Field So That Every Student-Athlete Has a Fair and Equitable Opportunity to Attend College

Honest Game is a public benefit corporation that empowers schools and student-athletes with a plan that provides guidance on the classes, grades, and test scores they need to meet NCAA academic eligibility status. Honest Game co-founders Kim Michelson and Joyce Anderson are on a mission to ensure students and families have equitable access to a college education.

For Joyce, a former high school counselor, attorney and NCAA Division I college athlete, and Kim, the first female to play high school Varsity basketball and baseball pre-Title IX, they experienced firsthand the incredible role sports could play to inspire learning in the classroom.

After working with thousands of high school students and student-athletes, they founded Honest Game to empower students and families with individualized and accessible guidance to their best college fit.

Take Naquan Jones, for example. Naquan was a student at a suburban Chicago high school with dreams of playing in the NFL. Naquan had the talent, but he didn’t have the grades. With a detailed strategic plan shared with his family and supporters, Naquan was able to get eligible to accept the full-ride to college he was offered. Following his graduation from Michigan State University, Naquan pursued a career as a defensive tackle in the NFL. During his initial three years in the league, he contributed as a defensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans and is currently an active member of the defensive line for the Arizona Cardinals.

Naquan’s story and thousands like it inspired Kim and Joyce to create Honest Game. Now, countless other student-athlete success stories keep them driving towards their goal each day. Honest Game exists to support busy school counselors and athletic directors, ensuring schools mitigate the risk of their students falling subject to academic ineligibility while leveling the playing field to ensure all student-athletes have a clear path to post-secondary education opportunities.

Today Honest Game helps more than 200,000 users meet their college sports goals. We partner with hundreds of schools and organizations to support families across the country by leveraging their students’ passion for sports to fuel their motivation for learning using short-term goals and clear individualized visual guidance.
